You could plan to spend the day at Mukteshwar, which is famous for ‘chauli ki jaali’, the Mukteshwar Dham Temple and the Bhalu Gaad Waterfalls. There’s ofcourse the Kilmora shop, where you can stop by and pick up some local handicrafts and food items like preserves, squashes, local teas etc. Don’t forget to make a pit stop at the Café Chandi Maati for some great kumaoni delicacies.

Besides that, if you are a history buff, Nainital has so much to offer. The British touch is evident on most of the iconic buildings of that era. The Raj Bhawan/ Governor’s House is a perfect example of that.Go to Tiffin Top for spectacular views of this old hill town. There’s also the ancient Naina Devi Temple which is visited by a lot of tourists.

Another great place for bird watchers and those who love the outdoors is Sattal.
